From, and including Wednesday 2 December, Nottinghamshire will be in local COVID alert level: Very High (Tier 3). This will include Newark, Southwell and Sherwood Forest. It means that visitors and residents must avoid travelling outside of, or entering, the very high alert area. Therefore we regret to ask that, if you do not live within Nottinghamshire, please do not travel to visit Newark, Southwell or Sherwood Forest at this time. We are asking everyone who lives elsewhere to avoid staying overnight in Nottinghamshire, except for those who need to for work, education or caring responsibilities.
The Government and local partners will closely monitor the impact of these new restrictions, and these restrictions will be reviewed every 14 days.
For Nottinghamshire residents, our outdoor entertainment and tourism venues are open, with the exception of their indoor attractions, with COVID-secure measures in place, for you to enjoy with members of your own household or support bubble.
Please visit Newark and Sherwood District Council’s website for the latest information and for more details about these restrictions: https://www.newark-sherwooddc.gov.uk/coronavirus
